Change the Direction of Your Life

Have you ever wished you could change the direction of your life?

I like hearing the stories of people who made the decision that they were going to change the direction of their lives. People do not choose how they come into this world, meaning you didn’t get to choose what type of situation or where you lived. You didn’t get to choose if you were born into a family that had enough finances, or a family that financially struggled. But you do get to choose how your life plays out to the end. You have the power to change your story.

Take for instance the story of a young man who dropped out of high school, lived in a Volkswagen bus with his family parked in different places throughout Canada. He eventually moved into a tent that was set up on his older sisters lawn and parked the van in the driveway. That is the beginnings of Jim Carry’s life. He did let a lack of education, or money stop him from changing his story.

Changing one’s story starts with changing one’s vision. The vision of what you believe is possible for your life. God has a plan for each of us; but that plan can get postponed, due to a lack in our own belief of what is possible. We can be telling God that we want something, wait patiently throughout our life for it, and never accomplish what we want because of a lack of doing our part.

What is My Part?

God provides the miracle, and our part is having the faith to believe in what we actually want. What is Faith?

  • Faith is confidence and trust. It is a brief that is not based on proof.
  • Faith is taking the initiative to get up and go forward, acting and doing things as if what you want is happening.
  • Faith is our part of the process, which comes from having a firm mind and a decided heart.

How do I create a firm mind and decided heart?

A firm mind and a decided heart is the product of one’s thoughts producing a positive, cohesive emotion. An emotion and attitude that is complimentary to what you are desiring to happen. What I think and how I feel about something, creates the type of action I will put forth. What I think and feel is my part of the equation. How I think is in my control.

Time is precious. Since non of us have unlimited amounts of it, so why waist your time on trying to figure out what another person is thinking and doing? Many times people do not understand their own motives. The reason is because they are deaf to understanding their true thoughts.

How to Control your life

When I feel the need to have control of what is happening in my life. I step back into my thoughts, and how I am perceiving the situation. I ask myself…

  1. if what I am thinking, or the thoughts that I am tuning into, are helping me to live out the life I desire?
  2. Are my thoughts positive, and lifting my energy to go forward to be productive and happy?

If I can answer both of these questions and feel satisfied with my answer, then I am on the right track. However, if I am not satisfied with the answer of either question, then it is time to start planning out what I want. It’s time to make myself a priority, by planning and creating some changes.

Feel Empowered

Having the ability to figure out one’s thoughts is power. I designed a plan that makes the process simple. It is called Cre8 Reminders©

Cre8 Reminders© is a system for recognizing possible thought habits that have a negative affect on our abilities and actions.  Once an unproductive thought is acknowledged, start redirecting your thinking through a simple process of creating a motivational reminder. Why a motivational reminder?Because your goal is to illiminate the train of thought, that has up to this point, been blocking your success.

You are now in the drivers seat taking complete control of your mind’s ability to think constructively, and that is empowering.

 Albert Einstein once said,

“We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.”

Proverbs 29:18 says,  “Where there is no vision, the people perish.”

Cre8 Reminders© guides you in the process of creating powerful thoughts…a vision statement that will pull you back on track when the mind begins to wonder off in the wrong direction.

Taking action and doing our part starts with Planning and Creating a Vision Statement. A statement that is focused on creating what you really need.

Action Step:

To guarantee your ability to think well, write a Daily Vision Statement.  To write such a statement, focus on describing a strong and positive future that is beyond the comfort level of your current day-to-day expectations.  Think of how you might stretch a little more in each situation and what you would like the end result to look like.  Such a statement should provide inspiration that fuels your enthusiasm to move to action.
