Our mind’s Inner Critic is a valuable asset for change; unless this process of the mind decides to work over time. How can you tell if the Inner Critic has taken control? Take note if, and when you find yourself playing the “Blame game”, or maybe a little walk around the block of fault finding. And a sure give away is when Miss Criticizer comes to town.
The cure? A simple shot in the arm of giving yourself, or someone else, a dose of positive Acknowledgment, appreciation and support will do the trick. And absolutely double up on the building of Self Value – giving Thanks and treasuring your strengths and gifts. Top it off with a dose of nurturing, respect and honor for everyone in sight, and you should be good to go.
Seriously, the Inner Critic has an important role for opening your eyes to definite areas that are ready for change. It helps you ask the question, “How can I improve?” Without it’s gifts there would never be the possibility for personal growth and self improvement.
