Change is a process that often involves the emotion of Grief. An emotion that all too often is shied away from or completely ignored. Why so? Could it be that grief is typically connected or associated with pain; therefore people tend to speed through the process or arm themselves with an invisible suit of armor hoping that the feelings will not penetrate.
All these attempts to go numb do nothing but drain our energy and shut down our emotions, one of the major ingredients in our creative process.
Grief can be felt for even times that offer good experiences. For example the moving from a home to a better location leaves us with a feeling of loss. As one acknowledges these emotions looking onward to find the golden nugget, the gift, the pearl of wisdom that one can obtain, we find our right of passage leading to a feeling of Resolve.
Resolve is an understanding that letting go is not about regrets, but rather about gathering from the raw emotion the refined threads of gold that weave themselves in and throughout our being making us more than we once were.
