“Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”
George Bernard Shaw
I am so focused this morning on business decisions that have taken center stage these last few weeks, that I left exercise and headed straight home forgetting to pick up my daughter from her 6 am seminary class. Now that is WAY TOOOO FOCUSED!
Do you ever find that you spend so much time trying to figure things out, or find “solutions”, that you end up missing out on really living your day? Creating your day? Well that was my awakening this morning. Being focused is good….but tooo focused is unhealthy.
We can be too focused on work, relationship problems, health issues, etc. that pretty much everything else just slips by unnoticed. We may think that we are being an active participant in creating our life…when really those outside situations or happenings of the day are creating us.
Therefore, I declare this day that my “Real Positive Change” is….. to take more time to enjoy the simple good things, like this mornings gorgeous sunrise. I will focus on having the solutions I seek come more easily to me, rather than letting the thoughts about them drowned out everything else in life. I will use my simple stress release every time my obsessive mind wants to fall back into this old pattern. And I will start my mornings (after prayer and scripture) with the music from Garys’ cd, “A New Day”, to continue my efforts of starting the day balanced, clear thinking and with a happy skip in my step, grateful for having a new day to create myself.
How are your planning on creating You today?
